As the first challenge in the Battle of the Bighorn, teams must retrieve from the river a watermelon dropped from the observation deck at Five Points Rapid and carry the melon for the rest of the race.
This is the second year for the annual event put together by Echo Canyon River Expeditions and Fremont Adventure Recreation. A portion of proceeds from the event goes too FAR to promote participation in outdoor recreation and endurance sports in Fremont County, Colorado. Echo Canyon also offers the Battle of the Bighorn as an exclusive team building rafting trip for groups and corporate entities.
